Seven Sisters

Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain with the Seven Sisters range in the background.

The Seven Sisters are a locally well-known, much-beloved range above Montreat and Black Mountain, N.C. The range is only about three and a half miles long, encompassing seven neatly ascending “sisters” leading to their “father,” Graybeard Mountain. Four of the sisters are presently on Summitpost.

The range is a delight to traverse from one end to the other. A marked trail, the West Ridge Trail, runs from the second sister to Graybeard. (from hiking site

Before I Die Project - Asheville

This wall is on Biltmore Ave in Asheville near Doc Chey's.  If you are not familiar with the project here is some background.

"After losing someone she loved, artist Candy Chang painted the side of an abandoned house in her neighborhood in New Orleans with chalkboard paint and a stenciled sentence, "Before I die I want to _____.!  Within a day of the wall's completion, it was covered in colorful chalk dreams as neighbors stopped and reflected on their lives.  Since then, more than 500 Before I Die walls have been created in over 65 countries and over 30 languages by passionate people all over the world."

Tailgate Market

Every Wednesday the local organic farmers, bakers and assorted food creators set up a marketplace next to the French Broad Food Co-op downtown Asheville.  You can find local produce, freshly baked bread, honey, flowers, bagels, goat milk soap and so much more.

One baker has his own wood fired oven with him and bakes all day long for the market - talk about freshly baked!

Of course there is always music to enjoy like these tow guys who were having a great time.

Stop by Our World Tuesday for more glimpses of favorite places all over the world.
