Black Mountain Welcome

Black Mountain is a old resort town  billing themselves as the Front Porch of the Blue Ridge with a huge red rocking chair as its symbol.  This year they asked artists to paint a number of chairs to put out along the streets for use and display.  Some are pretty cool.

Window boxes, planters and Rose of Sharon shrubs grace every nook and cranny of this tiny town.  Many shops are housed in historic buildings and offer locally hand made items, antiques and food.  The old Depot is a craft gallery and the train is open for viewing.

I love Black Mountain. When we built here we bought tons of furniture at Tyson's. And we always spent the day in Black Mountain. Such a charming little town.

My Aunt and Uncle, and cousins live in Black Mountain. I have fond memories of visiting there as a child
