Clouds, Swans and Mountain Colors

I had to run errands in Black Mountain the next morning after a rainy night.  The clouds still lingered, snagged on the mountain peaks.

Trying to get a better view of the clouds I headed over to the tiny town of Montreat.  Lake Susan sits in the center of the Montreat College campus and provided outstanding reflections of the fall foliage.

The lake is home to a couple of swans but I only saw one that day.  I do hope nothing happened to the other.  The one swan kept swimming back and forth along the wall in front of me like she was searching for something she may have lost in that spot.

Oh, glorious photos! Were they taken the day you mailed the Cosequin--were they the ones? No matter when, they're wonderful!

Wonderful pictures had me sitting here wanting to be there so very much. I love the mountains so much but the 5 hours distance doesn't let me visit as much as I would like.

Lovely skywatch shots! The clouds hanging over the mountains is a beautiful scene. I love the fall colors and the pretty swan. I hope its mate did not leave, poor swan will be lonely. Happy skywatching!

The leaves are beautiful. As much as I dread winter coming, I love the colors of autumn. You have captured them well, and that swan! Magnificent!

How nice to see the mountains capturing the fog. Also nice to see the photos of Montreat. My grandfather, Samuel Guerrant toured through Europe with Dr. Anderson who ran Montreat for awhile. They remained dear friends their whole life.
