Splashing through Summer
About 20 minutes from where I live is the tiny town of Montreat, population 700, situated back up in a mountain cove. Lake Susan (I wrote about this lovely lake in a previous post here.) feeds Flat Creek, the creek that flows through Robert Lake Park, a favorite place for families to bring young children during the summer. The park, named after one of the children of a prominent Montreat fmaily, has a lovely playground but the creek itself is the place to be as far as the kids go.
I went by a few weeks back when the native rhododendrons were in bloom and it was lovely - shaded, with the sound of water rushing by and the town children enjoying the cool waters.

What a beautiful peaceful place! So pretty and the waters look so refreshing in the heat! I also like the names Lake Susan and Robert Lake! Makes me wonder who Susan and Robert were!
Take care

Cool!
Oh, it looks like so much fun to splash around in that pond. Very pretty area too!
What a lovely spot to cool off and enjoy the day. Great photos, thanks for sharing your world. Have a great day!
I love the shot of the little girl with her feet in the H20 from up above...very nice

What kid cou;ld ever pass up a creek, including me. I posted twice on the MYT site because of an error in the first post. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Great shots and nice time to be splashing in the cooling water.
How wonderful to see the children enjoying the creek. So much better than the club's swimming pool.
How delightful and refreshing - especially in the heat.
Adventure like this on a summer day is terrific...you've captured some wonderful photos to share with us.

Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday!
Oh gosh that looks like such great fun. That water looks so cool and inviting.
Looks to be a lovely park. You caught my attention with the first photo - that woodland path looks very shady, cool, and inviting.
Perfect place for the kids to cool off while learning about nature! Nice photos of family fun!
I so love going to creeks like this. There is something in town creeks that makes you feel magic. Kids do love to find things and so adults too ^_^ Happy Wednesday!
Watery Wednesday
Playing in the creek -there's so much to discover!
And I love you blog background!
I love little streams in sylvan settings!
WATER ON WEDNESDAY
Water on Wednesday
And other days too,
Water for me, friend,
And water for you;
Water as ocean
And water as sea,
Water for you, friend,
And water for me;
Every day water
In puddle or ice
Or snowflakes or mist—
Oh, water is nice!

I love creeks in the mountains. Your photos make them look so cooling. Great shots.
I tell you, Lake Susan would really feel good this week as cold as it is. I never went to this park, but it looks lovely. Had hoped to get back down to see Weezie, but work starts back in 2 weeks. I have done nothing this summer but work on my photography. I have pretty much deserted this blog for my “Climbing” one. Hope you have been having a nice summer. Take care...Genie
It looks so peaceful there and beautiful, we love the nature here in the mountains.
What a beautiful and peaceful looking place.
