Larkspur and Sunflowers

Sunflowers
I stopped by our local produce stand yesterday while doing errands and was delightfully surprised at the fresh flowers they had for sale - larkspur, lilies and sunflowers in huge bouquets.  I looked off into the garden on the right and the larkspur  was blooming as far as I could see. (All photos will bignify when clicked.)

Larkspur bouquets

Lily assortment.

Next to the larkspur was a smaller bed of sunflowers all just about to open.  It was a wonderful sensual overload!  Enjoy!

Is there anything happier than a sunflower on a warm summer day? Nope.... I think not.

I never tire of sunflowers--they are always so cheerful-looking.
COLOR DILEMMA

Yellow or red—which shall it be?
Red for you and yellow for me?

Perhaps you’d rather have yellow instead—
Which leaves me, of course, with handfuls of red!

Whichever hue you decide to choose,
I’ll take the other—no one will lose!

Sunflowers always make me happy. Thankyou for your kind words on News From Italy. We had a wonderful time at the wedding this weekend, now back catching up with all the jobs that need doing in the garden having been left for a few days!
