We are still waiting for the road to be cleared more - all the focus is on the highways and main roads for now. Our neighbors try to help out by using their tractors and trucks to plow the snow off the roads. Just taking it easy today!

Our Second Snow this Winter
We got hit with another substantial snow this winter - 12" plus - just a little less than last time. Our area usually gets less than that all season!

We are still waiting for the road to be cleared more - all the focus is on the highways and main roads for now. Our neighbors try to help out by using their tractors and trucks to plow the snow off the roads. Just taking it easy today!

Photo Hunt - Spotted
Just when all the snow from the last storm had finally melted we got 12" more! It is still falling mixed with sleet and freezing rain. At least our power is still on! We don't usually get this much snow all year never mind twice in one season.
This was taken last night - our view outside was a screen of white spots! That's my spotted for this week.

Ice Storm
On Christmas Eve 2009 it began to rain and then sleet. I hurried home from work looking forward to a quiet holiday with my cats and husband. About 3am the power went out and stayed out for 3 days! It was beautiful outside to see the ice all over everything but as the days worn on the cold (38 degrees) in the house became very uncomfortable. Tress were down across the road, power line hung across the road tangled in trees. We could at least get out once the road was clear to get a shower at a friend's house and to eat a hot meal! We ended up getting a generator when the power company called to tell us it would be another day and a half before they could restore power.
