Garden and Goat Update

This spring our neighbor had several kids born in their goat herd - two births took place in the pasture across the street from me and I was lucky enough to witness them. Visit this post for the birth photos - not messy, just lovely. As you can see the kids are growing up and looking good. I love to watch them frolic in the field and pay with each other.

This year was our first attempt at straw bale gardening. Click here for instructions. We planted tomatoes, melons and cukes in straw bales and things are looking good. So easy and they work well as raised beds.

Our onions are doing well and we have pulled out the lettuces and broccoli for another round of planting for fall. Our lilies have passed but we have plenty of daisies, bee balm and these tall white flowers in many colors as well as black eyed Susan's.

Hope you enjoyed today's post. We are joining in on Camera Critters, Scenic Sunday and Today's Flowers so be sure to stop by and see what other great posts are up!

I'm so impressed with your garden, a real success. Congratulations!

And such lovely floral photos to look at on a very rainy day (as it is here).

Happy Friday; have a wonder-full weekend. :-)

Such beautiful flowers and your garden is great. Goats have always been one of the most loveable creatures. As a child I had two named Lilly & Billy that gave me tons of joy. I even developed a taste for goats milk when my dad had one he milked. This was a great post.
