Local Organic Produce at Flying Cloud Farm, Fairview

Our local produce stand at Flying Cloud Farm is now open! We have been waiting for this all spring. They grow organic veggies, fruits and flowers so there is lots to check out each day when I drive past. They are unique in that they operate on the honor system - you help yourself to the produce and leave the money in the metal tube. We like that - says a lot about our town and area!

If you would like more info - check out www.flyingcloudfarm.net. Enjoy the photos!

Hi Cheri,
I live in N.C., and just love our mountains, but live in the flatlands. lol
I have tried for years to get my sweetie to move us to the mountains, but he won't budge. So I guess we will just have to visit you all about every couple of years. lol. We grow our own organic vegetables, and there is nothing any better to eat. I am so glad that you have such a great place to buy fresh veggies! I have enjoyed your blog.
Blessings,
Sue

I hope they can afford to stay on the honor system. Those are common around here but I know of some who have been so misused that they have had to get someone to be there at all times.

I love the entrepreneurial spirit that shines through this kind of a stand.

Oh! Oh! This is so exciting! I followed you over here by a comment left at NCMountainwoman's place and first thought was, wow! That looks just like the little stand by our new home! And it IS the farm stand by our new home! We are right up Sharon Hollow on Meadow Lane. We bought last year and have rented the place while selling and moving out of Chicago (today!) and now, not an hour goes by that I don't think about getting in our new mountain home. I'm very happy to find your blog and I'll watch closely over the coming months. It was October last year when we closed so we only stopped by your stand once and mostly there were peppers. I'm curious about all your produce. And now, look at all these other links to follow!

Our local one is open now as well on a limited basis. Oh how glad I am. Fresh veggies from now until October! I love yours, especially that you don't have to be there all the time.

Dear amarkonmywall - welcome to Fairview. We moved here one year ago from the High Country near Boone to be in milder weather and more to do. We love the area and our local farms. Hope you enjoy the blog - I try to let everyone know what is going on and fun things to do and know about!
